Business Operators invest countless hours solving problems. Troubleshooting a network issue requires a specialized skill-set and often involves several suppliers, vendors, and network providers, sometimes resulting in finger-pointing while the cause of the issue is pursued. CloudRider quickly pinpoints network impairments, eliminating what sometimes takes hours, days, or weeks to determine.
A CloudRider Agent is a transportable micro script staged at the Origination- or Destination-end of the application or network path that can run within an existing server, as a docker, or provided on a NUC PC, that collects metrics from the pseudo stream and transport stream. Specialized protocol probes are available to provide greater analytical data for SRT, RIST, and SMPTE2022-7 protocols. Additional transport stream-specific probes are being developed.
Several CloudRider Agents specifically address individual packet protection protocols. While the general CloudRider Agent will work across all networks there are customized Agents specific for SRT (Streaming Reliable Transport), and the SMPTE 2022-7 multiple path protocol.
CloudRider will identify network impairments soon after being deployed. Continued benefits of CloudRider operation include:
• Always monitoring for changes in the network
• Active notification of connectivity degradation
• Exposes undocumented routes, including unidentified Internet paths
• Hold Connectivity Providers to contracted SLA performance.
Yes! CloudRider contains functions that restrict CloudRider from causing impairment or degrading operating transport streams. This includes a diagnostic ‘stair-stepping’ routine that increases the payload of a pseudo-stream under user-defined parameters to aid in evaluating throughput performance.
Both! CloudRider is intended to operate on Managed Networks, Private Networks, and Unmanaged Networks, like the Public Internet. All networks are subject to impairments, degradation, intrusion, and failure. CloudRider quickly identifies the problem and leads to the solution.
Both! Either!
CloudRider decreases troubleshooting time from Weeks, Days, and Hours to minutes, saving your organization both time and money. Issues that required teams of IT Professionals and out-of-organizationinvolvement can be quickly identified by CloudRider.
Yes! CloudRider can monitor multiple streams on the same path without impact or additional cost. CloudRider specifically illustrates the performance of individual streams, their bandwidth, and transport direction.
CloudRider clearly defines path performance, assisting in determination of which path should be primary, secondary, etc. CloudRider determines the actual latency, jitter, packet loss, and other performance metrics for each path. CloudRider reveals if the path is truly diverse and exposes common path segments. If the application includes use of SMPTE 2022-7, CloudRider with the 2022-7 Probe will illustrate reception of all packets, exposing service impairing packet loss or other service affecting issues.
