About Us

dotCentral is a team of telecommunications and technology experts, each with decades of industry experience. We believe there is no “one-size-fits-all” solution for today’s complex application needs. Unlike many communication companies that outsource engineering and project management to overseas call centers, dotCentral provides hands-on, personalized service. We understand the importance of clear communication and tailored solutions for our customers.

Provisioning services goes beyond simply establishing a connection and walking away. At dotCentral, we apply our years of experience to first understand our customer’s goals and listen carefully to what they aim to achieve. Properly placing services for a specific application requires deep industry knowledge and an understanding of how our customers intend to use the service. Too often, service providers fail to fully grasp these needs, resulting in overpriced or mismatched services. We take the time to thoroughly understand the requirements and offer solutions that meet both our customers’ needs and budget.

The dotCentral team not only has decades of real-world experience but also a passion for continual learning. Our experts actively participate on industry boards, attend conferences, and often present at events. This commitment to ongoing education ensures that we are always ready to tackle new challenges and opportunities with the latest knowledge and strategies.

Dan Swartz

Dan Swartz

Managing Member

Dan Swartz is widely recognized as a pioneer in the television industry. In his early career, he was among the first to adopt videotape technology for television commercials and corporate training. From Boston, Massachusetts, his company, Videocom, Inc., served a global clientele and quickly became known for innovation and reliability. By the 1980s, Dan foresaw the growing demand for cost-effective, high-quality satellite transmission of television signals. This insight led him to establish Videocom Satellite, Inc., which set new benchmarks for excellence in broadcast and satellite services. Under his leadership, the company achieved a flawless record—never once losing a customer’s signal—a standard that remains a benchmark in the industry today.

In 2006, Dan expanded his vision internationally with the founding of Videocom Brasil Ltd., in partnership with Marcio Rabello. Together, they built the first privately owned company to secure satellite transmission licensing from the Brazilian government. Their work brought broadcast television, private networks, and corporate and government communications to communities across Brazil, strengthening national connectivity and shaping the country’s media infrastructure.

Throughout his career, Dan Swartz has been recognized not only for technical innovation but also for his ability to anticipate industry needs and deliver solutions that became lasting standards. His contributions continue to influence both the broadcast television and satellite communications industries worldwide.

Paul Atwell

Paul Atwell

Paul Atwell began his telecommunications career in 1986, selling and provisioning point-to-point connections. He soon moved from building physical local area networks to specializing in IP networking for wide-area and application networks. Paul played a key role in pioneering Video-over-IP at a time when many doubted it could work on packetized networks, and he contributed to the standards organizations that developed widely adopted transport protocols in use today.

He now focuses on helping others expand their application networks, reduce operating costs, and implement standards-based workflows and solutions.
